To 146 Harley Street, W1G 7LD, under two miles north of Belgravia. From Victoria it is two stops on the Victoria line and a walk up Portland Place; from Knightsbridge, one change. Consultation, imaging and, where indicated, biopsy and results are completed in a single sixty to ninety minute visit.
Belgravia is under two miles from Harley Street, and the journey is short enough that most SW1X patients treat it as a local appointment. We consult at 146 Harley Street, W1G 7LD. A same-day one-stop breast clinic appointment usually takes sixty to ninety minutes from arrival to the results discussion, so an early slot has you back in Belgravia before most of the working day has gone.
Belgravia patients tend to arrive with a history that is already partly documented — a scan done somewhere else, a report in another language, a relative’s diagnosis that has prompted the appointment. Bringing that material with you shortens the visit rather than lengthening it. If a different part of the city is more convenient on a given day, all our London locations are set out in one place.
From Belgravia the choice is between speed and step-free access. The Victoria line is the fastest; the Jubilee line via Green Park has lifts at both ends. Full directions and parking for 146 Harley Street cover the car parks, the drop-off point and the driving position if you are coming by car.

A good number of our Belgravia and Victoria patients divide their time between London and somewhere else, and that changes what matters about a breast appointment. Putting examination, imaging and biopsy into one attendance is not simply more comfortable; it is often the difference between being assessed while you are in the country and waiting for the next trip. It also produces one set of findings, explained by the person who examined you, instead of a file moving between departments.
A few practical points are worth knowing before you call. Self-funding patients need no referral letter to book. Insured patients should check their policy first, since nearly every insurer wants a GP referral and a pre-authorisation number in place, and an international policy can take a day or two longer to confirm. Surgery and inpatient care happen at one of the private hospitals we work with a few streets from the consulting rooms; directions and parking for The Harley Street Clinic are set out separately if that is where your admission is arranged.

He has been on the GMC specialist register since 2009 and a consultant since 2012, with European Board certification in Breast Surgery and in Surgical Oncology. He also acts as a medico-legal expert witness, which in practice means he is used to working from records, films and reports produced by other institutions — useful if your history is spread across more than one country.
From SW1X the journey is short enough that most patients arrive early. Two stops on the Victoria line, or a taxi up Park Lane, then a drop-off directly outside the building. Bring your insurer details and pre-authorisation number if a policy is covering the visit, any previous mammogram or ultrasound images and their written reports, and the name of the GP you would like copied in.
The consultation starts with history and examination. Imaging follows in the same building, and a needle biopsy is taken during the same attendance if the imaging raises a question. Overseas films are reviewed alongside anything taken on the day, which occasionally means a study does not need repeating. Where a biopsy has been taken, the laboratory reports separately and a discussion is arranged; if you are leaving the country before then, that conversation can be held by telephone or video.

From the Eaton Square and Belgrave Square end, Hyde Park Corner and the Piccadilly line to Green Park is a similar length of journey. A taxi up Park Lane is usually fifteen to twenty minutes outside the rush hours.
Take the Jubilee line rather than the Victoria line. Green Park and Bond Street both have lifts from street to platform; Oxford Circus does not. From Victoria that means the Victoria line one stop to Green Park, then the Jubilee line one stop to Bond Street, and a level walk from there. It is worth checking the current step-free map before you travel, and telling us when you book if you would like a taxi drop-off at the door.
Yes, and it is worth bringing them. If you have had a mammogram, ultrasound or MRI outside the UK, bring the images and the written report in whatever form you were given them. They are reviewed alongside anything done on the day, which sometimes avoids repeating a study. If you have already been given a diagnosis elsewhere and want it reconsidered, that is a second opinion on a breast cancer diagnosis rather than a fresh assessment, and it is a common reason people come to us.
