At 146 Harley Street, W1G 7LD, around half a mile west of Fitzrovia and five minutes on foot from Great Portland Street. Consultation, clinical examination, mammogram or ultrasound and, where indicated, a biopsy are completed in one visit, with the results discussed before you leave in most cases.
Fitzrovia sits directly across Portland Place from us. For W1T and W1W patients the practical consequence is that a breast assessment does not have to be planned around a day away from the office — a same-day one-stop breast clinic appointment at 146 Harley Street runs about 60–90 minutes from arrival, and the walk from Fitzroy Square takes roughly ten minutes.
A large share of the people who work in Fitzrovia — in the studios around Charlotte Street, in the university and hospital buildings on the eastern edge, in the offices off Great Portland Street — find a change in the shower and then spend weeks deciding what to do about it. Walking is almost always fastest. From Charlotte Street, head west along New Cavendish Street or Devonshire Street and cross Portland Place; from Fitzroy Square it is a straight line across to the top of Harley Street.

Fitzrovia is unusual in that world-class NHS breast services are a short walk away, and patients here are generally well informed about them. What they are usually buying privately is not better medicine — it is a shorter and more predictable timeline, and an appointment they can book around a working diary rather than accept when offered.
The other frequent driver is symptom uncertainty. Breast pain and nipple discharge are common, usually benign, and rarely urgent on paper — which means they can sit low on a waiting list while the person experiencing them is quietly worried. A private assessment resolves that in one visit, and the great majority of our one-stop attendances end in reassurance rather than treatment.

His London career includes Royal Free London and UCL, a divisional directorship at The London Clinic and the clinical directorship of breast services for NHS England’s NCL Cancer Alliance — the same north-central London network that covers Fitzrovia.
Great Portland Street is the nearest, about five minutes on foot. Goodge Street works if you are coming from the Northern line, at roughly twelve minutes.
A consultation alone can fit into a lunch hour. A full one-stop assessment with imaging usually needs 60–90 minutes, so allow around two hours door to door from most Fitzrovia addresses. Tell us when you book if you are working nearby and we will try to schedule accordingly.
Yes. Patients frequently ask for a private second opinion alongside NHS care. Bring your imaging and any pathology report if you have them, or we can request them with your consent. A second opinion does not affect your NHS treatment.
