The usual reason is time. NHS breast services in this part of London are good, but a two-week-wait referral still means waiting, and the interval between finding a lump and being told what it is can be the hardest part. Coming privately compresses that interval: examination, imaging and, where needed, biopsy happen in the same visit rather than across separate appointments.
The second reason is continuity. You are seen by a consultant, not a rotating team, and the same consultant carries your care through diagnosis, surgery and follow-up if that becomes necessary. Marylebone GPs refer here regularly, but you do not need a referral letter to book — you can call us directly. If you intend to claim on private medical insurance, your insurer will usually want a GP referral and a pre-authorisation number, so it is worth arranging that first.

He has practised as a consultant since 2012, holds dual European Board certification in Breast Surgery and Surgical Oncology, and was formerly Clinical Director of Breast Services for NHS England’s NCL Cancer Alliance and Divisional Director at The London Clinic. He works within a specialist multidisciplinary team of breast radiologists, pathologists and oncologists.
