Two things come up repeatedly. The first is privacy. A breast diagnosis is not something most people want circulating, and a small consultant-led clinic handles that better than a large hospital outpatient department. The second is the shape of the pathway. If a diagnosis of breast cancer is made, the question that follows immediately is who will operate, what the reconstruction options are, and whether the two decisions are being taken together or separately.

A taxi is usually quickest outside peak hours. By Underground, Bond Street to Baker Street on the Jubilee line and a ten-minute walk is reliable and avoids Oxford Street traffic.
